Guiana is the only French Overseas Department located
on the continent of South America.
With an area of 90000 km2 (approximatively 1/6 of the size of
continental France) and a population of 157.200.
Its territory is largely covered by Amazonian rainforest.
It is bordered on the west by Surinam, on the east by Brazil.
Located near the Equator, French Guiana
humid climate is characterised by a long rainy season from Decembre
to June (broken by a short summer in March) and a dry season that
begins in July and lasts until Novembre.
The temperature is generally around 28° C.
